The weekend is the perfect time to visit Verona, from all over the world. A small but plentiful city with easy access for all. It doesn’t matter if you are coming with your car, by train or plane. Verona was made for romantic getaways, famous thanks to Shakespeare himself and his beautiful Juliet and romantic Romeo.
What is a young couple to do?
It is a tradition to visit the House of Juliet and declare your love for your partner on the walls, and visit the famous balcony and statue. After you can take a walk and try the best ice cream in Verona, Gelateria La Romana; a hidden gem just outside the historical centre. The ice cream shop has been open since 1947, all over Italy and their main aim is to make everyone smile from eating it.
If you don’t feel like ice cream?
Well, there is always the historically famous pasticcerias of Verona to visit. One of our favourites is Flego, a pasticceria which you must visit while in Verona. No one will come out disappointed at the level of desserts and savory products. A great place to get acquainted with the city and enjoy a sweet break in company or even alone, while you browse the city guide between a visit to the Arena and a walk.
Romantic Dinner?
Now, I could recommend a restaurant for a romantic dinner however, there are so many typical restaurants in Verona you will be lost for choice. There only recommendation is not to eat in the main squares in the historical centre, obviously for tourists.
A lovely Spa for the cold winter nights?
In the historical centre, there is a wellness centre called Paradise Spa, only 20 euro per person and you will receive the full wellness kit. They only ask you to bring your own bathing suit and you have full reign over the spa. The spa includes: a jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, emotional shower, rustic shower and kneipp therapy.

Verona is one of the most romantic cities to visit as a couple, a weekend getaway or even just for one night. Everything is near and comfortable to visit by foot, you won’t even have to bring your car.
